You may be thinking about counselling because you are feeling distressed about a life event or something in the past or present is really troubling you.

Your feelings may feel too much or are difficult to cope with. You may want support with and more understanding of anger or fear, anxiety or feeling low, difficulty with relationships or you may know something is not right but not exactly what.

Counselling can help to build self-esteem and to increase self-awareness to empower you to make different choices in life.

Asking for help and accessing support can feel very difficult and sometimes overwhelming. As a Person-Centred therapist,  I offer an environment that is warm, confidential and free from judgement. I work to help you feel safe and to build a trusting relationship that can help you to feel able to share difficult things. It’s a collaborative relationship and requires commitment and time.

Julia Dobson Counselling MBACP (Accred)

I work with individual Adults in private practice in Weston Turville, near Aylesbury.

I work online using Zoom and face to face. I have a confidential garden therapy room for daytime appointments with parking.

I have undertaken extensive training to meet the BACP competencies for online therapy and I follow the BACP Ethical Framework for my counselling practice and undertake regular professional counselling supervision and extensive regular training and CPD.

My First Session

I offer a confidential and free 30 min zoom call for any initial enquiry prior to a first session.  The first session then is really an assessment of your needs and your expectations and hopes for counselling and to see if we can work together and that I’m the right counsellor for you.

We can discuss in much more detail the reasons that brought you to therapy and I can explain how I work and answer any questions or concerns you may have. We will work at your pace and you are free to pause or end counselling at any time. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy.
